Plastic factory fire at Islambagh under control

DHAKA, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - Firefighters have brought the fire under control that broke out this afternoon at a plastic factory in Chairmanghat area of Islambagh at Lalbagh here in the city.

Eleven fire fighting engines contained the blaze at 4pm today following two and half hours of intense efforts, Fire Service and Civi Defence (FSCD) media officer Anwarul Islam confirmed.

Firefighting teams arrived at the spot within 20 minutes after receiving the news of the fire at 1:30 pm today and promptly dispatched rescue units to the scene and immediately began operations to control the blaze. 

No casualty was reported in the fire.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage were not immediately known.
