Fire erupts Islambagh; 6 units battling blaze

DHAKA, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - A fire broke out this afternoon at a plastic factory in the Chairmanghat area of Islambagh under Lalbagh police station in the capital. 

Fire Service and Civi Defence (FSCD) media officer Anwarul Islam confirmed that they received the news of the fire at 1:30 pm today and promptly dispatched rescue units to the scene.

Firefighting teams arrived at the spot at around 1:50 pm and immediately began operations to control the blaze. 

At present, six units-two each from Lalbagh, Hazaribagh and Palashi fire stations-are actively working to douse the fire.

Meanwhile, three additional fire service units are on their way from Siddiqbazar to support the ongoing firefighting efforts.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage were not immediately known.
