Fire at Mohammadpur residential building under control

DHAKA, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS) - A fire that broke out in an apartment of a six-storey building located in the capital's Mohammadpur area within minutes this afternoon. 

Media Officer Anwarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) confirmed that the fire erupted in a flat housed on the sixth-floor of the building at 36/A, Jahuri Mahalla in Mohammadpur at 03:40pm today. 

Two units contained the blaze under control by 04:25 pm in the afternoon.

No casualties were reported in the incident, Islam said. 

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, he added.
