Four held with foreign pistol, drugs in Ashulia

SAVAR, Oct 31, 2025 (BSS) - The army arrested four armed criminals with a 
foreign-made pistol and a large quantity of drugs during a raid in Ashulia of 
Savar early today.

The detainees were identified as Mehedi Hasan Mithun, 24, Mozammel Bhuiya, 
44, Masuma Akhter Riya, 23 and Zahidul Alam, 24). All are residents of 
Ashulia's Gazirchat area.

A team from Jamgora Army Camp conducted the operation in the Gazirchat area 
of Ashulia at dawn and arrested the suspects.

According to the Jamgora Army Camp, a group of armed criminals and drug 
dealers had long been terrorizing the Gazirchat area with their associates. 

On Thursday night, locals were panicked after hearing several gunshots in the 
area. 

Upon receiving the news, an army patrol team rushed to the scene and launched 
an operation at the criminals' hideout.

Based on their information, the army recovered one foreign-made pistol with 
two magazines and eight rounds of ammunition, 17 shotgun cartridges, 16 
pistol bullets, local weapons and 3,040 pieces of yaba tablets along with 
other drugs.

The arrested individuals were handed over to Ashulia Police Station for legal 
action.
