BGB seizes Indian goods worth over Tk 7 lakh from Satkhira border

SATKHIRA, Oct 31, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today seized Indian goods valued more than Tk 7 lakh during drives in border areas.

The drives were carried out by the Bhomra BOP, Gazipur BOP, and Toluigacha BOP under the Satkhira Sector, targeting border-adjacent areas under the jurisdiction of Satkhira Sadar and Kalaroa Thanas.

The seized items included high-quality Indian sarees, shawls and medicine.

Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ashraful Hoque, the Commander of the Satkhira 33 BGB Battalion, said the seizures were made as part of regular monitoring and enforcement drives along the frontier.

He also stated that the confiscated Indian items have been subsequently deposited at Satkhira Customs.
