Making information-based decisions stressed to build accountable state system

THAKURGAON, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) – Speakers at a meeting emphasized that there is no alternative to making information-based decisions to build a developed, transparent and accountable state system in the digital age.

They highlighted that, alongside technological education, it is essential to raise awareness, address social inequalities, and take coordinated initiatives to make the youth skilled.

The speakers also stressed that the combined efforts of families, educational institutions, and the administration are crucial to guiding the current generation toward the use of accurate information and innovative thinking.

They made the remarks at a discussion meeting themed, “Come, let’s change the country, let’s change the world.” 
The program was organized at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room at 11 am today under the joint initiative of the district administration and the district information office.

Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Farzana presided over the meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Sardar Mustafa Shahin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Bulbul Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and Information Communication Technology) Mehnaz Ferdous, Additional District Magistrate Golam Ferdous, and senior officials of various government departments were also present.

Meanwhile, District Information Officer H. M. Shahjahan Mia delivered a keynote speech on several important issues, including the promotion of quality education, prevention of child marriage, drug eradication, and the proper use of information technology to build a youth-oriented Bangladesh.

At the wrapping up of the meeting, an open discussion was held on various ways to engage young people in information-based development and society.
