KHULNA, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Information Affairs Secretary and Khulna-4 constituency candidate Azizul Bari Helal today said the party's foremost objective is to ensure a peaceful and participatory national parliamentary election.

"BNP will not announce any programme that may cause public suffering or disrupt daily life ahead of the upcoming polls. Politics should make people's lives easier, not add to their hardships. BNP believes in the politics of transformation, not confrontation," he said while addressing a pre-election campaign rally at Aichgati in Rupsha upazila.

The rally, jointly organised by the BNP and its affiliated bodies, was presided over by district BNP joint convener Khan Zulfikar Ali Zulu.

"Awami League called for a lockdown, but they themselves are in lockdown abroad. BNP goes to the people and believes in democracy," Helal said.

He reiterated BNP's pledge to introduce a two-term limit for the post of Prime Minister. "There must be accountability in running a nation. Without limits on power, a country moves backward. That is why BNP stands for politics of change," he added.

Speakers at the event said public attention is now fully centred on the electoral field, with people showing greater enthusiasm than ever for a peaceful, competitive and participatory election.

They cautioned that any attempt to disrupt the polls through intimidation or violence would be resisted by the masses.

District BNP joint conveners Khairul Molla, Kamruzzaman Tuku, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Enamul Haque Sajal, Nazmus Sakib Pintu, Abdus Salam Mollik, Riaz Molla, Arifur Islam Arif, Ali Azgar, Khan Shahanur Rahman Arju, Sheikh Anisur Rahman, Ataur Rahman Ranu, Babu Ujjal Kumar Saha and Asaduzzaman Biplob, among others, addressed the rally.

Following the programme, local leaders held a planning meeting focusing on election preparedness, polling-centre-based committee formation and overall campaign strategy.
