Farmer dies of electrocution in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, Nov 21, 2025 (BSS) - A farmer died of electrocution while threshing paddy at Maheshpur upazila here today.

The deceased was Manoranjan Ghosh (60), son of Kantalal Ghosh at Shivanandapur village of Natima union of the upazila, Officer-in-Charge of Maheshpur Police Station Nazrul Islam said.

The OC said the incident took place at around 10 am when the paddy threshing machine got electrified due to a faulty electrical connection.

Islam said the body was handed over to his family. 

Filing of a legal case is underway, he added.
