MANIKGANJ, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - National Livestock Week 2025 began in the 
district as part of nationwide events running from November 26 to December 2, 
2025. 

The events are organised at central, district, and upazila levels with the 
theme "Local Breeds, Modern Technology: Advancing the Livestock Sector".

Under the auspices of the Department of Animal Resources, District 
Administration and Livestock Department, Manikganj chalked out the week-long 
events.

To mark the week, a colorful rally was brought out in the district town with 
the participation of government officials of district and Upazila levels.

After the rally, a discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy 
Commissioner (DC) of the district.

The DC Nazmun Ara Sultana addressed the meeting as the chief guest while 
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Manikganj Sadar Mousumy Nasrin presided over 
the event.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Hasan Khan, District Veterinary Officer 
Dr. ABM Razzaqul Haider and Manikganj Press Club President Zahangir Alam 
Biswas, among others, spoke on the occasion. 

Dr Selim Jahan, Manikganj Sadar Upazila Animal Resource Officer moderated the 
function.
