National Livestock Week and Exhibition inaugurated in Narail

NARAIL, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - National Livestock Week and Livestock Exhibition was inaugurated at Sadar upazila Livestock office and Veterinary Hospital premises today.

Marking the week, upazila livestock office and veterinary hospital has arranged elaborate programmes in cooperation with Livestock and Dairy Development Project under the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry.

On the occasion, a colorful rally was brought out at 11.30 am. 

Later, a discussion meeting was held with Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sanchita Biswas in the chair.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Abdul Salam was present at the event as the chief guest.

District Animal Resources Officer Dr. Md. Rashedul Haque, Deputy Director of Department of Agricultural Extension Muhammad Arifur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Rakibul Hasan were present as special guests. Sadar upazila livestock officer Debashish Kumar Kundu delivered welcome speech. Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Md. Tariqul Islam moderated the discussion.

The speakers underscored the need for flourishing the livestock sector further to meet the local demand of the protein.

In this context, they emphasized for creating more entrepreneurs in the upazila to turn livestock farming into social movement to make the farming popular to the youths, they also said.

Upazila livestock officer Debashish Kumar Kundu said the livestock department is working to ensure safe, adequate and quality protein demand for all. 

A total of 30 stalls have been set up in the exhibition to display the varieties of livestock of the upazila.
