
BAGERHAT, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - The livestock exhibition -2025 was held in Kachua, Bagerhat today, highlighting the theme "Local Breeds, Modern Technology-Livestock Will Be Developed."
The fair opened in the morning with a colourful rally. The Upazila Administration, Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital jointly organised the event in collaboration with the Livestock and Dairy Development Project (LDDP). Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Mohammad Ali presided over the programme.
Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Ali Hasan inaugurated the fair as the chief guest, with Livestock Extension Officer Krishibid Prafulla Kumar Malakar conducting the session.
Speaking at the event, Ali Hasan said the development of indigenous breeds and the adoption of modern technology are essential for strengthening the livestock sector. He noted that the government aims not only to boost production but also to support the rural economy and help farmers become self-reliant. Exhibitions like this, he added, promote knowledge exchange, encourage innovation and help farmers embrace new technologies. The upazila administration, he assured, will continue providing full support for livestock development.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Muhammad Asif Haider and Kachua Thana Officer-in-Charge Md Shamim Ahmed addressed the ceremony as special guests.
Kachua Upazila Public Health Engineering Officer Md Raihan Hossain, Upazila Rural Development Officer Md Hasan Imam, ICT Officer Md Moazzem Hossain Rachel, Youth Development Officer Md Akbar Hossain, along with officials from various departments and farmers from across the upazila, attended the fair.
A total of 30 stalls showcased a variety of domestic animals and birds. At the end of the programme, the chief guest handed over prizes to the best farmers, while all participants received consolation awards.
