2 motorcyclists killed as bus hits bike

JASHORE, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) - Two motorcyclists were killed after a bus hit their motorcycle last night while they were on their way to visit a patient at Jashore General Hospital.

The accident occurred around 8pm on Saturday at Jagahati area on the Jashore-Chaugachha road.

The deceased were identified as Selim Hossain, 38, son of Afil Uddin of Alisha Jadunathpur village in Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah, and Ibrahim Hossain, 40, son of Tahajjal Hossain of the same area.

Sajiayali Police Camp's Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Niamul Hossain said the two were heading towards Jashore town by motorcycle when a speeding bus coming from the opposite direction rammed into their bike, leaving both dead on the spot. 

They were travelling from Maheshpur to visit a patient at Jashore General Hospital.

On information, members of Sajiayali Police Camp and Fire Service recovered the bodies and sent them to Jashore General Hospital.

Police said the bus has been kept under the custody of Chaugachha Police Station, while the driver and his helper fled the scene. Families of the victims have been informed.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chaugachha Police Station Anwar Hossain said the bus is currently under their custody. "As the accident spot falls under Kotwali Police Station, they have been informed and will seize the bus," he added.
