HABIGANJ, Dec 7, 2025 (BSS) - A school teacher was killed in a road accident in Bendarpool-??Notunbazar area under Bahubal upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was Rupjit Kar Raju, 36, son of Nipesh Kar of Baniagaon village and assistant teacher of Mirpur Sunshine Model High School in the upazila.

The accident occurred around 7 am on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway when a vegetable-laden truck heading towards Srimangal ran over the teacher and fled the scene. He later died on the way to Sylhet. 

Officer-in-Charge of Bahubal Model Police Station Md. Aminul Islam confirmed the matter.
