Factory worker killed as train hits him in Mirsarai

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) - A factory worker was killed after being hit by a train in Mirsarai of Chattogram on Saturday evening.

The accident occurred around 7pm at the Chinki Astana Railway Station area on the Dhaka-bound track of the Dhaka-Chattogram rail line.

The deceased was identified as Tutul Kanti Dhar, 50, son of late Dulal Kanti Dhar of West Hinguli village under Hinguli Union in the upazila.

Family members said Tutul, father of two, worked at the local BSRM steel factory and used the railway line for his daily commute. He was returning home from the factory on Saturday when he was hit by a train near the Chinki Astana Station and died on the spot.

Ashraf Siddiqui, in-charge of the Sitakunda Railway Police Outpost, confirmed the incident, saying an unnatural death case has been filed in connection with the incident, and the body has been handed over to the family upon completion of legal procedures.
