Army distributes educational materials, winter clothes in Khagrachari

KHAGRACHARI, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Army has distributed educational materials and winter clothes among residents of the Panchhari area in Khagrachari, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the hill region.

The event, organized by the Panchhari Army Subzone in the Tarabanchhara area on Saturday, was attended by Khagrachari Region Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Hasan Mahmud as the chief guest.

Addressing a views-exchange meeting with local residents, Brig Gen Mahmud said that no terrorist or extortionist groups would be allowed to gain ground in the hills.

 He pledged firm action to suppress all militant activities, adding that the Army is working for the security and well-being of all communities—both people of ethnic groups and Bengalis.

He further asserted that no opportunity would be given for instability to return to the peaceful hill districts.

Later, the chief guest distributed educational supplies and more than 300 blankets among local families.

Senior officials included Khagrachhari Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Khademul Islam, Khagrachhari DGFI Colonel Md. Atiq, Logang 3 BGB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rabiul Islam, Region Staff Officer (G-2-I) Major Kazi Mostafa Arefin, Panchhari Subzone Commander Major Rifat, and other officers from the Region, Sadar Zone, Panchhari Subzone, and Logang 3 BGB.

Local representatives also attended the event, including Panchhari Logang UP Chairman Joy Kumar Chakma, Chengi UP Chairman Anand Joy Chakma, UP member Md. Shaheb Ali and other dignitaries.

The programme concluded with an Army medical team providing free healthcare services to local residents.
