KHULNA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - A preparatory meeting to finalise programmes for observing Victory Day 2025 was held this morning at Shaheed Altaf Auditorium of the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Nagar Bhaban.
KCC Administrator Md Mokhter Ahmed chaired the meeting, which began with a solemn tribute to the martyred freedom fighters, wounded and valiant freedom fighters, persecuted women, and those who lost their lives in July 2024.
The meeting decided to hoist the national flag at sunrise on December 16 at Nagar Bhaban, all KCC offices and educational institutions, and to place wreaths at the Gallamari Memorial in honour of the martyrs.
It also resolved to decorate major KCC buildings, key city entry points, important islands and road medians with national flags, and to illuminate Nagar Bhaban, the Administrator's Building, Khalishpur Branch Office, the Bir Bangali sculpture and Shaheed Hadis Park.
Wonderland Children's Park in Khalishpur and Linear Park in Gallamari will remain open to children free of charge on the day.
The Victory Day schedule includes children's painting and essay competitions at 9 am at Nagar Bhaban, followed by a discussion meeting, prize distribution and a doa session seeking eternal peace for the martyrs, good health for freedom fighters and the nation's prosperity.
A friendly football match between KCC XI and the Deputy Commissioner's Office XI will be held at 3:30 pm at the District Stadium.
