BOGURA, Dec 8, 2025 (BSS) - A large number of BNP leaders and activists joined a mass prayers seeking recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at Altafunnesa playground in the district town today.

Presidents and general secretaries of 24 units of Bogura district BNP, along with leaders and activists of the party’s affiliated and associate bodies, took part in the prayers event.

Prior to the Asr prayers, District BNP President and former municipality mayor Rezaul Karim Badsha addressed the gathering.

He said Begum Khaleda Zia fought against the “fascist Sheikh Hasina.” Khaleda Zia was imprisoned in false cases and became seriously ill, he said adding that fascist Sheikh Hasina is responsible for Khaleda Zia’s illness.  

He said that people across Bangladesh held prayers at madrasas, mosques, other places of worships and orphanages for Khaleda Zia’s recovery. 

 Mufti Mawlana Ataullah Nizami conducted the prayers.

BNP Chairperson’s Advisor and Senior Vice-President of the Central Committee of Krishak Dal and former MP Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu, BNP Executive Committee members VP Saiful Islam, Ali Azgar Talukder Hena, Zainal Abedin Chan,  Kazi Rafiqul Islam, Mahbubur Rahman Harej,  Acting General Secretary of District BNP and former MP Mosharraf Hossain,  District BNP Vice-Presidents M.R. Islam Swadhin,  Advocate Hamidul Haque Chowdhury Hiru and Maftun Ahmed Khan Rubel joined it.
