DHAKA, Dec 19, 2025 (BSS) – The health condition of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is now more stable than she has been over the past month, her personal physician AZM Zahid Hossain said today.

“Compared to the condition Begum Khaleda Zia was in, by the infinite grace of Allah and the prayers of everyone, due to the medical board’s treatment, her condition is much more stable than before. Currently, there has been no deterioration in her condition. By the prayers of the countrymen and the mercy of Almighty Allah, her physical condition has been quite stable over the past month," he said.

Dr. Zahid, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s personal physician and BNP Standing Committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, made the remarks during a press briefing in front of the main gate of the Evercare Hospital in the city this evening.

“Begum Zia underwent a minor procedure today as well. She was taken to the operation theatre, and the procedure was completed very successfully. She was able to accept it well. Currently, she is undergoing treatment in a cabin with ICU facilities within the Critical Care Unit (CCU)," said Dr. Zahid.

Wishing for Khaleda Zia’s recovery, he said, “May Allah grant her the strength to continue the treatment she is receiving under the medical board, which consists of domestic and foreign physicians.”
