DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s personal physician and BNP Standing Committee Member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain today said Begum Zia's physical condition is stable.
"Currently, the physical condition of Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia remains as it was before, as I mentioned a few days ago. Her physical condition is stable," he said while briefing journalists in front of the main gate of the Evercare Hospital in the city.

Regarding Khaleda Zia’s ongoing treatment, Dr Zahid noted that "Alhamdulillah, she is properly receiving the treatment being administered according to the advice of the physicians.”
Dr Zahid informed that Begum Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at the hospital since November 23 and she is in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) since November 27.
A medical board consisting local and foreign doctors has been formed for her treatment. The board is comprised of physicians from Bangladesh, UK, USA and Australia, he said.
Dr Zahid added that the medical board conducts her health check every morning. Furthermore, due to time differences, a joint meeting of the Multidisciplinary Medical Team (MDT) is held with the foreign physicians every evening, and her treatment is managed accordingly.
Expressing hope for her recovery, Dr Zahid said, “Physicians are very optimistic. Insha'Allah, Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia will gradually recover."
He also mentioned that the party's acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman are constantly supervising Begum Khaleda Zia's treatment.
In addition, her family members- including wife of the late Arafat Rahman Koko, her siblings, and other relatives are continuously checking on her well-being.
"As she is in the CCU, they are monitoring her treatment from outside," Dr Zahid said and extended gratitude to all BNP leaders, party activists, leaders of all political parties, and even the Chief Adviser and Advisers of the Interim Government for their continuous support.
He also requested everyone to cooperate in maintaining the hospital environment. He stated that Evercare Hospital is open to all, and many other patients are also receiving treatment there.
He acknowledged the cooperation of the law enforcement agencies and urged that the treatment of other patients should not be disrupted due to Khaleda Zia's presence.
Dr Zahid appealed to the people to pray to the Almighty Allah for Begum Khaleda Zia's speedy recovery, so that she can once again play her appropriate role in Bangladesh's politics and in the country.
