International Human Rights Day observed in Khulna

KHULNA, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS) - Human rights organisation 'Odhikar' Khulna Unit 
on Wednesday observed International Human Rights Day-2025 forming a human 
chain and holding a rally in front of Khulna Press Club.

Muhammad Nuruzzaman, focal person of 'Odhikar' Khulna Unit, presided over the 
programme while human rights activist and senior journalist Ziaus Sadat read 
out Odhikar's statement marking the day.

The speakers emphasised the need for a free, fair and impartial election to 
uphold democratic values in the country.

BFUJ Assistant Secretary General Ehteshamul Haque Shawon, Ashraf-uz-Zaman of 
Greater Khulna Development Coordination Committee, Munir Chowdhury Sohel of 
Ganasanghati Andolon, Hafez Maulana Abdullah Zobayer of Khelafat Majlis, 
Advocate Mominul Islam of Bangladesh Human Rights Implementation 
Organisation, Abul Hasan Himalay of Daily Samakal, Sheikh Abdul Halim of 
National Human Rights Unit, NCP Khulna Metropolitan organiser Mushfique Shams 
Minan, Sardar Abu Taher of Greater Amra Khulnabasi, and Sheikh Faruk of 
Khulna Blood Bank addressed the programme, among others.

Following the human chain, a rally started from Khulna Press Club and 
concluded at the Picture Palace intersection after parading main city 
streets.
