‘Voter Gari’ campaign launched in Naogaon

NAOGAON, Jan 8, 2026 (BSS) – ‘Voter Gari’ campaign was inaugurated in the district today to encourage citizens to exercise their voting rights during the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum 2026.

As part of the campaign, a programme was held at the Zero Point area of Sapahar upazila on Thursday afternoon. The initiative, organized under the theme of “The Key to the Country is in Your Hands”, aims to educate citizens about their voting rights, highlight the significance of the referendum, and foster a participatory, festive electoral environment.

Sapahar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Romana Riaz attended the event, along with Assistant Commissioner (Land) Faridul Islam, Social Service Officer Delwar Hossain, Rural Development Officer Alamgir Hossain, Project Implementation Officer Maidul Islam, and local media representatives including Sapahar Press Club President Taslim Uddin and General Secretary Babul Akhter.

Documentaries screened during the programme covered key moments in Bangladesh’s history, including the July Uprising, the sacrifices of July fighters, the murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad, and the killing of Felani at the border. The documentaries emphasized the importance of democracy, justice, and state accountability.

A special speech by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus was also broadcast, in which he stressed the need for state reforms through the referendum, the establishment of good governance, and the fulfillment of civic responsibilities. He also highlighted the importance of safeguarding the voting rights of expatriate Bangladeshis.
