Eight candidates in 13th JS polls race in Jamalpur-5 seat

JAMALPUR, Jan 9, 2026 (BSS)- A total of eight candidates of different political parties are now in the election race in Jamalpur-5 (Jamalpur Sadar upazila) constituency as their nomination papers declared valid to take part in the upcoming 13th national polls. 

The valid candidates are Shah Md Wares Ali Mamun (BNP), Muhammad Abdus Sttar (Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami), Abu Sayem Mohammad Sa-Adat Ul Karim (Bangladesh Congress), Md Amir Uddin (JSD), Syed Yunus Ahammed (Islami Andolan Bangladesh), Md Babar Ali Khan (Jatiya Party), Muhammad Sanowar Hossain (Amar Bangladesh Party) and Zakir Hossain (Gana Odhikar Parishad).

Centering the election, all candidates are hopeful and highly optimistic to win the 13th National Parliamentary Polls scheduled to be held on February 12. 

The vital constituency of the district consists of 15 unions and a municipality. A total of 5,73,214 voters in the constituency of whom 2,79,896 male, 2,93,311 female and 7 transgender. Total vote centers are 161 and the number of booths is 1,054.
