Doa mahfil held in Khulna seeking eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia

KHULNA, Jan 8, 2026 (BSS) - A doa mahfil was held in Khulna today seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia, three-time former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the BNP.

The doa mahfil was organized after Asr prayers at Tutpara Government Model Secondary School. 
Former Member of Parliament from Khulna-2 constituency Nazrul Islam Monju attended the programme as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Nazrul Islam Monju recalled with deep respect the illustrious political life of Begum Khaleda Zia, highlighting her contributions to the restoration of democracy and her sacrifices for the country.

He said Begum Khaleda Zia was a unique symbol of the democratic movement in Bangladesh, whose leadership and ideals continue to inspire leaders and activists of the BNP.

Former General Secretary of Khulna City BNP and freedom fighter Moniruzzaman Moni, President of Khulna City BNP Shafiqul Alam Mona, Organizing Secretary Masud Parvez Babu, Chowdhury Hasanur Rashid Miraj, Khulna City Krishak Dal leader Akhtaruzzaman Talukder Sajib, President of Khulna Sadar Thana Mohila Dal Halima Khatun, and leaders of ward-level BNP and its associate bodies, among others, were present.

The speakers prayed for the eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia and sought peace, prosperity and the establishment of democracy in the country.
