Prayer held in Khulna seeking eternal peace of Khaleda Zia

KHULNA, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) - A doa mahfil and discussion was held today at the Jubodal office of Ward No. 31 here in the city, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of three-time former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

The programme, held after Asr prayers, was organised by the Khulna City Ward No. 31 unit of Jubodal. It was presided over by Yakub Ali Patwari, former general secretary of Ward No. 31 Jubodal.

Former Member of Parliament from the Khulna-2 constituency Nazrul Islam Monju attended the programme as the chief guest. 

In his speech, Monju paid deep tribute to Khaleda Zia's illustrious political career and her sacrifices for the restoration of democracy, describing her as an unforgettable leader of the country's democratic movement.

He also extended greetings to current BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman expressing hope that under his leadership the party would continue to play a decisive role in safeguarding the rights of the people.

Among others, Jubodal leaders Arifur Rahman Opu and Tariqul Islam Zaheer were present at the programme.

The event concluded with a special doa and munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Khaleda Zia.
