CMP bans entry, presence of 330 individuals in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 17, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has imposed restrictions on the entry and presence of 330 individuals in the Chattogram Metropolitan Area to maintain peace and order and ensure the safety of lives and property.

CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz issued a public notice in this regard on Saturday.

According to the notice, the individuals identified as miscreants include several high-profile figures, among them alleged top terrorist Sajjad Ali, former mayor AJM Nasiruddin, former state minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, and former councillors Mobarak Ali, Ashraful Alam, Ziaul Kabir Suman, Easarul Hoq and Abdus Sabur Liton.

The notice stated that the action was taken under the authority vested in CMP by Sections 40, 41, and 43 of the CMP Ordinance, 1978, which empower the police to remove and restrict individuals deemed a threat to public order.

Those listed from serial numbers 1 to 330 in the attached document have been expelled from the metropolitan area, and their entry and presence in the city will remain prohibited until further notice.

CMP also warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the order in accordance with existing laws. A detailed list of the expelled individuals, spanning 12 pages and containing their names and identities, has been attached to the public notice.
