BOGURA, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - A doa mahfil was held in the district today seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of former BNP Chairperson and three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The mahfil was held at Baitur Rahman Central Mosque after Jumma prayers arranged by the mosque's Central Committee under the supervision of General Secretary Alhaj Tofazzal Hossain.

It was present, among others, by BNP Chairman's Advisory Council Member AKM Mahbubur Rahman, former MP Md. Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu, Vice President of the Mosque Committee and District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha, President of Bogura Press Club Rezaul Hasan Ranu, General Secretary Kalam Azad, Joint Secretary of the Mosque Committee Maksud Ahmed Chowdhury, Member MR Islam Swadhin, and leaders of district youth and student organizations, including Jahangir Alam, Saurav Hasan Shiplu, and Habibur Rashid Sandhan.

The doa was led by Baitur Rahman Central Mosque Khatib Maulana Mufti Monowar Hossain, who prayed for the departed souls of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and Arafat Rahman Koko.

Following the prayer, the mosque committee served food to around 10,000 people.
