RAJSHAHI, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - The country’s 13th National Parliamentary Election is scheduled to be held on February 12.
Ahead of the election, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has intensified its campaign in the Rajshahi-3 (Paba–Mohanpur) constituency in favor of its electoral symbol, the Sheaf of Paddy.
As part of this campaign, a large women’s rally was held today (Tuesday) in the Kalupara area of Bargachhi Union under Paba Upazila.
The rally, organized by the residents of Kalupara village in Bargachhi Union, was attended as chief guest by Sultana Sumaiya Haque Sumi, spouse of BNP-nominated parliamentary candidate Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon.
Addressing the gathering, she called on women, men, and the young generation alike to unite and vote for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol.
She said that if the 31-point program announced by Tarique Rahman is implemented, the rule of law will be established in the country and the fundamental rights of the people can be ensured.
Appealing particularly to women, she stated that this election is not merely about a party or a symbol—it is about women’s safety, the rights of future generations, and the restoration of democracy.
She therefore urged all women to unite and ensure victory by voting for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol.
She further said that if the BNP is entrusted with running the state, every family will be provided with a family card, which will further strengthen women’s familial and social security.
She also described Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, the BNP candidate in Rajshahi-3, as an honest, competent, hardworking, and fearless public leader.
Expressing hope, she said that if elected, he would play an effective role in the overall development of Paba and Mohanpur upazilas.
For the sake of local development and a secure future for the next generation, she made a special appeal to women to vote for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol.
The rally was presided over by Mosa Kohinoor Hossain, Vice-President of the Rajshahi District Women’s Wing of the BNP.
At the end of the rally, the women present pledged to vote for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol and ensure its victory.
