Listed terrorist Tutul arrested in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 20, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested a listed terrorist in the port city during a pre-dawn drive on Thursday.

The arrestee was identified as Md. Ali Azgar, also known as Tutul, 41, who was enlisted by the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) as a notorious criminal.

Officer-in-Charge of Baklia Police Station Mohammad Solaiman confirmed the arrest today, saying that Tutul was apprehended from the Notun Bridge area under Baklia Police Station around 3:30am.

Tutul is the son of Mohammad Shamsul Alam of Ismail Saudagar Bari in Dakshin Aashiya area under Patiya upazila. He had been residing in a slum on Noman College Road in the Baklia area of the city.

The OC said Tutul is included in the CMP's published list of 329 prohibited criminals. He is facing multiple cases filed with different police stations in the city.

Legal steps are under process in this connection, police said.
