RSSP holds memorial event for Prof Dr Rezaul Haq

RANGPUR, Feb 21, 2026 (BSS) - In memory of the late Professor Dr Muhammad Rezaul Haq, Rangpur Sahitya-Sangskriti Parishad (RSSP), organized a programme titled "Swmaraner Batayan" at its office on the city's Town Hall premises on Friday afternoon. 
 
Professor Haq, former Principal of Rangpur Carmichael College, convener of Rangpur University Implementation Coordination Council, eminent educationist, writer, researcher and cultural personality died on February 2 last at the age of 92. 
 
RSSP President Dr Nasima Akhter presided over the programme moderated by its General Secretary Mamun Ur Rashid.
 
The programme began with recitation from the Holy Quran. 
 
In the programme, Dr Rezaul Haq's writings were read, discussed, and dedicated poems were recited and recited by writer, cultural personality Dr Mofizul Islam Maantu, eminent writer, educationist Professor Mohammad Shah Alam, former RSSP Presidents Anwarul Islam Raju and Swattik Shah Al Maruf.
 
RSSP's executive committee members SM Amjad Hossain Sarkar, Sufi Zahid Hossain, information and research editor Lutfar Rahman Saju, joint editor Tajul Islam, literary editor Afzal Hossain, poet Ahsan Habib Rabu, Muhammad Khalid Saifullah, orators Mehdi Masud, Mesbaur Rahman, Shihab Shah Al Mueen Shuddha also took part in the programme. 
 
Among others present were poets, writers and cultural activists Ahsan Habib, Nur Alam, Kamrul Hasan, GS Bappon, Hasnain Rabbi. 
 
At the end, special prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the departed soul of late professor Dr Muhammad Rezaul Haq, who was also an adviser of RSSP. 
 
The special prayers were led by RSSP's adviser Anwarul Islam Raju.
