RAJSHAHI, Mar 10, 2026 (BSS)- A Police-Magistracy Conference was held in Rajshahi to accelerate judicial proceedings and ensure speedy justice for people.

The conference was held on Monday evening in the conference room of the Rajshahi Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

Rajshahi Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Masudul Haque chaired the meeting, while Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ataullah conducted it.

Representatives from Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), including the deputy police commissioner (prosecution), additional deputy police commissioner (DB), assistant police commissioners and officers-in-charge of different police stations attended the conference.

Assistant Commander of RAB-5, Assistant Director of BGB Battalion-1, officials of the Department of Narcotics Control in Rajshahi and a representative of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital were also present.

All magistrates, judges of the Senior Civil Judge Court, judges of Rajshahi Sadar and Paba Family Courts and officials from different departments related to the judiciary attended the meeting.

Addressing the participants, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Masudul Haque stressed the need for coordinated initiatives between the judiciary and law enforcement agencies to ensure quick disposal of cases and timely justice.

He called upon all relevant departments to perform their duties with sincerity and responsibility to achieve this goal.

The meeting discussed ways to increase the rate of case disposal, improve the quality of investigations, ensure effective presentation of evidence in court and expedite the judicial process.

Participants also discussed various challenges currently facing judicial activities.

Officials attending the meeting said that despite a shortage of judges, a large number of cases have been disposed of at the Rajshahi Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

They also termed the initiative of delivering speedy justice through summary trials conducted by magistrates as a positive step.
