2 children killed as wall collapses in North Badda

DHAKA, March 11, 2026 (BSS) - Two children were killed today after a wall collapsed in North Badda area of the capital. 

The deceased were identified as Ayesha Moni, 9 and Nusrat Akhter, 6.

Family members said the incident happened around 11:30 am while the children were playing near a road in Lane No. 10, eastern Badda. The wall of a nearby house fell on them, leaving them critically injured.

The children were rescued around 1:45 pm and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead.

Iqbal Hossain, Ayesha's father, said his daughter and Nusrat were playing by the roadside when the wall collapsed. Neighbors helped rescue the children and rushed them to the hospital.

Ayesha's family lives in the Yafedi area under Barura police station in Comilla district. Nusrat, daughter of Sharif Mia, lived with her family at House No. 8 in Lane No. 10, eastern Badda.

Inspector Mohammad Faruk, officer in charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed that the bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue. 

He said the incident has been reported to the relevant police station for further investigation.
