DHAKA, March 11, 2026 (BSS) - The United Arab Emirates today distributed Ramadan food assistance among 1,620 underprivileged families in Bangladesh, including hundreds affected by the recent Vashantek slum fire in Dhaka, as part of a humanitarian initiative during the holy month.

The aid was distributed under the Ramadan Iftar Programme jointly implemented by UAE Aid and the Zayed Foundation, according to a press release.

Among the beneficiaries were 500 families affected by the recent fire incident at the Vashantek slum in Mirpur, Dhaka.
