Fuel seized, shopkeeper fined Tk 20,000 in Nilphamari

RANGPUR, April 1, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court seized 55 liters of hoarded 
diesel and petrol from a shop and fined the shopkeeper Taka 20,000 at 
Saltitola Mour under Jaldhaka Police Station of Nilphamari district on 
Tuesday night.
 
The Jaldhaka Upazila Administration, RAB-13 and Jaldhaka Police Station, said 
a press release signed by RAB-13's Senior Assistant Director (Media) and 
Additional Superintendent of Police Biplab Kumar Goswami this afternoon.
 
Jaldhaka Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md Zayed 
Imrul Mozakkin led the mobile court.
 
During the raid, the mobile court seized five liters of hoarded petrol and 50 
liters of diesel from the shop of Md Ataur Rahman at Saltitola Mour of 
Mirganj Union under Jaldhaka Police Station of Nilphamari at 9:05 pm.
 
Later, the court fined the shop owner Taka 20,000 under Section 45 of the 
Consumer Protection Act 2009 for illegally hoarding fuels.
 
In addition, RAB-13's intelligence activities and ongoing operations will 
continue to implement the zero tolerance policy against crimes such as 
illegal hoarding and selling fuel products at excessive prices, the release 
added.
