DHAKA, Apr 10, 2026 (BSS) -Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a joint operation has uncovered a large quantity of illegally stored soybean oil in Rupganj Upazila in the early hours of today.

Acting on a tip-off, the joint team from BGB (62 BGB) and RAB conducted a raid at around 1:00 am at a warehouse located at Tarabo Kazipara intersection, according to a RAB press release.

The facility was reportedly owned by two individuals, Raju and Khorshed.

During the drive, officials found nine barrels containing approximately 2,000 liters of soybean oil stored illegally.

Preliminary findings indicate that the oil had been collected from local markets in bulk and was being bottled and marketed using counterfeit labels under the names "Bandhan Plus" and "Bismillah."

Upon receiving the information, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of Narayanganj District, Marjanul Haque, arrived at the scene and ordered the immediate sealing of the warehouse.

Authorities said necessary legal action will be taken against those involved, and further decisions regarding the seized oil will be made in the presence of the concerned parties.
