RCC holds talks with Dutch firm to modernise waste management

RAJSHAHI, April 12, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) today held a meeting with Netherlands-based company 'Sweep Smart' to discuss ways to modernising the city's waste management system.

The meeting was held at the Nagar Bhaban conference hall, with RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton in attendance.

The discussion focused on introducing modern technologies in waste collection, transportation and overall management, alongside developing effective planning and sustainable solutions. 

Representatives of Sweep Smart presented various aspects of advanced waste management systems, including digital monitoring and eco-friendly initiatives.

RCC officials shared their perspectives on the feasibility of implementing such technologies to enhance service delivery for city residents.

The Sweep Smart delegation included Managing Director Niels van den Hoek, Consultant Sandy Indriana, Chief Coordinator Lt. Col. ATM Mujibul Alam (Retd.), and Engineer Consultant Ahsanullah Dewan.

On behalf of RCC, Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, Secretary Sohel Rana, Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun Dollar, Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moin, Executive Engineer Rahman Emon, among others, were present.
