KHULNA, April 15, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested a man from Pirojpur in connection with a murder case filed with Dighalia Police Station in Khulna.

Following his arrest, law enforcers recovered a pipe gun, empty cartridges and Tk 92,000 in cash from his residence.

The arrested was identified as Abdur Rahman, 26, son of the late Abdul Jalil, a resident of Deara Colony under Dighalia upazila in Khulna.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dighalia Police Station today said a police team, using information technology, conducted a drive in Pirojpur Sadar upazila on Monday and arrested Abdur Rahman.

Later, police, taking him on remand, carried out another operation in Bagerhat to detain other suspects involved in the case.

The OC said investigators suspect the recovered money may have been obtained through robbery using the seized firearm.

He added that drives are ongoing to arrest other accused, and that another case has been filed under the Arms Act.

On the night of March 27, a snatcher was shot dead after being mistakenly targeted by another member of the same group while they were attempting to rob Towhidul, a bKash and Flexi Load businessman, in the Deara steamer Kheaghat area of Dighalia upazila.
