Construction of Mirerchok Mosque inaugurated in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 17, 2026 (BSS) - Land Minister Md Mizanur Rahman Minu today inaugurated the construction work of a new 6-storey Mirerchok Jame Mosque on the site of the old structure in the district.

The mosque, built around 127 years ago, is one of the oldest and most traditional mosques in Rajshahi.

Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation Mahfuzur Rahman Riton and Administrator of Rajshahi Zila Parishad Advocate Ershad Ali Isha were present at the inaugural ceremony.

The construction work began with prayers and a munajat.

Speakers assured full cooperation for the construction of the new mosque building.

Once completed, the modern 6-storey mosque will provide improved facilities for worshippers to perform prayers and other religious activities in a more comfortable environment.
