RAJSHAHI, April 22, 2026 (BSS) - Long-distance bus services on the Rajshahi-Dhaka route, which had been suspended due to internal conflict within the bus owners' association, have resumed.

The decision was made this afternoon based on a settlement between the two sides following intervention by the administration.

It was learnt that leaders of the Natore and Rajshahi Bus Owners' Associations sat in an emergency meeting with administration officials at the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) headquarters around noon.

During the hour-long meeting, detailed discussions were held to resolve the dispute that had arisen between the two sides. Later, based on the consensus of everyone present, a decision was made to resolve the situation and normalize bus operations.

After the meeting, General Secretary Nazrul Islam Helal told reporters in a briefing that bus services were halted due to the conflict between bus owners of Rajshahi and Natore districts. This caused extreme suffering for passengers.

To resolve the situation, a meeting with the administration was quickly arranged. The issue was resolved through a settlement, and the decision was made to restart bus services.

Top leaders of the bus owners' and workers' associations of both Natore and Rajshahi were present at the meeting.

With bus services returning to normal, relief has returned among passengers.
