Youth killed, three injured in Khagrachhari road accident

KHAGRACHARI, April 28, 2026 (BSS) – A youth was killed and three others were injured in a head-on collision between a private car and a CNG run auto-rickshaw in Alutila area of Sadar upazila here on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Enayet Hossain Sourav, son of Md. Al Emran, a resident of Makrobber Union in Nangalkot upazila of Cumilla district. He was a daily wage cook at the Khagrachari Deputy Commissioner’s office.

According to local sources, the collision left a passenger of the CNG critically injured. He was rescued by locals and rushed to Khagrachari Adhunik Sadar Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Others injured, including Sourav’s wife Priya Akhter and the CNG driver Md. Muslim Mia were released from hospital after receiving primary medical treatment. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khagrachhari Police Station Kai Kislu confirmed the incident and said that a case has been filed in connection with the accident.
