3 killed, 11 injured in truck-microbus collision in Kurigram

KURIGRAM, April 29, 2026 (BSS) - At least three people, including a child were killed and 11 others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a microbus in Nageshwari upazila of the district last night.

The deceased were identified as Shamim Mia Nurnabi, 28, his daughter Sadia Akhter, 7, and the microbus driver Limon, 38. All were residents of different areas in Bhurungamari upazila.

The accident occurred around 11:30 pm in Bansher Tol area when the two vehicles collided head-on, leaving two microbus passengers dead on the spot and several others injured, said Officer-in-Charge of Nageshwari Police Station Abdullah-hil-Zaman.

The injured were quickly rescued and taken to a local hospital where another victim succumbed to his injuries.

Later, the injured were admitted to Nageshwari Upazila Health Complex. Those in critical condition were later transferred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
