BGB seizes 10,000 yaba tablets in Cumilla

CUMILLA, April 29, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 10,000 pieces of yaba tablets, worth an estimated Tk 30.60 crore from a border area in Cumilla district during an early morning drive today.

A patrol team from Bouarabazar Border Out Post (BOP) under Adarsh Sadar Upazila conducted the operation in the North Surjanagar border area and recovered the consignment, said Lt. Col. Mir Ali Ejaz, commander of Cumilla BGB-10 Battalion.

He said the seized contraband was found abandoned during the drive.

The estimated market value of the recovered Yaba tablets is around Tk 30.60 crore, he added.

Lt. Col. Ejaz further said the battalion remains committed to safeguarding the country's border integrity and sovereignty while continuing efforts to prevent cross-border crime, smuggling, and drug trafficking.
