RMP holds special coordination meeting to control drugs

RAJSHAHI, June 4, 2026 (BSS) - A special coordination meeting was held at the initiative of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) to improve the overall law and order situation, control crime, and ensure public safety in the Rajshahi metropolis.

The meeting was held today at the conference room of the RMP headquarters and was presided over by RMP Commissioner Mohammad Foyezul Kabir.

Expressing the resolve to build the city into a safe, peaceful and drug-free metropolis, the meeting adopted several important decisions and directives.

The RMP Commissioner placed the highest emphasis on continuing regular special drives against drugs and strengthening drug control measures.

He said anti-drug operations must be further intensified in coordination with all stakeholders. He also directed police to increase patrols in crime-prone areas and strengthen intelligence surveillance to prevent mugging in the city.

The meeting also decided to conduct joint and coordinated operations with other relevant government agencies to prevent illegal sand extraction and protect rivers.

Detailed discussions were also held on ensuring effective coordination among different units and enhancing information-sharing to expedite case investigations.

RMP Additional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and representatives of RAB-5, CID, the Naval Police, and the Department of Narcotics Control, among others, attended the meeting.
