AL leader arrested in Mirsarai

CHATTOGRAM, June 08, 2026 (BSS)- Chattogram district police arrested  S.M. Abu Taher Bhuiyan (69), former Chairman of Mithanala Union Parishad and a leader of the Awami League in Mirsarai, Chattogram. 

OC of Mirsarai thana Farida Yasmin said Taher Bhuiyan was arrested from his residence in Sunday night. 

 He was the chairman of Mithanala Union Parishad from 2003 to 2016 and also served as the President of the Union Awami League. 

Farida Yasmin said there was an arrest warrant against Taher Bhuiyan in a case. He was produced to the court today.
