RAJSHAHI, June 30, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today recovered a foreign-made pistol, two rounds of ammunition and a pistol magazine during a raid in the Hajra Pukurpar Railway Field area of the city.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-5's Rajshahi Sadar Company conducted the raid early this morning on the northern side of Hajra Pukurpar Railway Field under Chandrima Police Station, according to RAB-5 sources.

During the operation, the foreign-made pistol, two rounds of ammunition and a pistol magazine were recovered abandoned at the scene.

However, RAB said it has not yet been confirmed who owned or possessed the recovered weapons and ammunition.

According to RAB's initial assessment, terrorists had collected the weapons and ammunition from neighbouring India with the intention of destabilising the country. Sensing the presence of RAB personnel, they allegedly fled the scene, leaving the items behind.

RAB-5 said drives are underway to identify and arrest those involved with the recovered weapons and ammunition.

The recovered pistol, ammunition and magazine were handed over to Chandrima Police Station for further legal action.
