One child, one tree plantation activity held in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, JUNE 30, 2026 (BSS)- One Child, one tree plantation program was held in all academic institutions (High Schools) of the district on Monday amid much enthusiasm to the students and teachers. 

Like other high schools of the district, the program was also held at Kamarjani Merchants’ High school under Sadarupazila in the district amid festivity. 

The program was held under the Learning Acceleration in Secondary Education (LACE) Project) being implemented by Secondary and Higher Education Directorate of the ministry of Education, sources said. 

Md. Faruqul Islam, head teacher of the school said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman instructed the students to plant at least one tree every year to keep the environment well protected and protect the environment from the negativr impacts caused by climate change.

To evaluate the instruction of the PM, the program was observed across the country on Monday, he added.
