CHATTOGRAM, July 11, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Navy today extended humanitarian assistance to people stranded by flooding and clogged waters caused by heavy rainfall, gushing waters from hills and unusually high tides in the southeastern port city.

“A naval team today visited several affected areas under Patenga Police Station, including Bijoy Nagar, Akmal Ali Road, New Mooring Madrasa, Narikel Tala and the Navy Hospital Gate area, to assess the situation,” an ISPR press release said.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate during the situation assessment navy personnel also distributed 2,000 packets of cooked food among affected families.

The statement said Bangladesh Navy would continue its humanitarian assistance to affected people until normalcy was restored in the flood-hit areas.
