DHAKA, July 11, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim said the comfortable batting conditions and a crucial opening partnership paved the way for his side's seven-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the third and final ODI.
He added that the win would boost the team's confidence ahead of the T20I series.
Tanzid was named Player of the Match for his fluent 94 as the knock was instrumental in chasing down Zimbabwe's 199, in just 36 overs.
The opener said he enjoyed batting on a surface that offered more value for stroke-making than in the previous two ODIs.
"I'm happy because the wicket looked very good. When I went in to bat, the ball came on nicely," Tanzid said after the match.
"In the previous matches there was a little more bounce, but today the ball came on much more evenly."
The left-handed opener, who shared a match-defining 151-run opening stand with Soumya Sarkar, said the partnership was key to Bangladesh's successful chase.
"They bowled really well, so we knew we needed a big partnership to win this match," he said.
Tanzid believes the victory, which helped Bangladesh avoid a series sweep after losing the first two ODIs, will provide valuable momentum before the three-match T20I series.
"This win will give us confidence ahead of the T20I series," he added.
