DHAKA, July 10, 2026 (BSS)- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 425 suspected criminals during routine anti-crime drive in the city over the past 24 hours.

During the drive police also seized significant quantity of narcotics and other items including 177 kilograms of cannabis, 6,025 Yaba tablets, 3 grams of heroin, a mishuk vehicle, 9 mobile phones, some local made lethal weapon and a switch gear.

Police filed as many as 57 cases against the arrested persons in this connection, a DMP press release said.

The release claimed to rescue a person from the captivity of the criminals. 

It said 39 persons were arrested by DMP Ramna Division, 24 from Lalbagh Division, 57 from Motijheel Division, 56 from Tejgaon Division, 88 from Mirpur Division, 55 from Gulshan division, 43 from Uttara Division, 61 from Wari Division and two by the Detective Branch (DB).
