KHULNA, July 9, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB, in a drive, have arrested the alleged chief of the notorious "Khabir Bahini" along 
with a locally-made firearm, ammunition and a Chinese axe from Dighalia upazila of the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a special operational team of the elite force [RAB-6] conducted a drive in the Gazirhat area under Dighalia Police Station on 
Wednesday afternoon, according to a RAB-6 press release issued here on Thursday.
 
During the operation, the force arrested Khabir Molla, 47, son of Kawsar Molla of Jangushia village in Dighalia, who is alleged to be the leader of the robbery gang known as "Khabir Bahini".

The RAB members recovered a one-shooter gun, two rounds of live ammunition and a Chinese axe from his possession. 

The seized items were confiscated in the presence of witnesses following legal procedures.

The press release described Khabir as a professional robber and armed criminal. A review of his criminal records found that he is accused in 13 
cases, including murder, illegal arms and robbery, filed with different police stations in Khulna and Narail districts.

A case has been filed against the accused under the Arms Act with Dighalia Police Station.

Later, he was handed over to the police along with the seized items for further legal action.
