36 held across three police station areas in Dhaka

DHAKA, July 8, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 36 suspected offenders were arrested in coordinated anti-crime operations conducted by police in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Mohammadpur and Turag police station areas of the capital as part of the ongoing drive to maintain law and order.

According to police officials, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station carried out a special operation in crime-prone areas under its jurisdiction on July 6, during which nine people were arrested for their alleged involvement in various criminal offences.

In a separate drive on July 7, Mohammadpur Police  arrested 16 individuals from different crime-prone locations within its jurisdiction.

On the same day, Turag Police Station conducted another anti-crime operation, leading to the arrest of 11 suspected offenders.

Police said the detainees include accused in regular criminal cases, warrant-listed fugitives and individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities.

All the arrested persons have been produced before the competent court for further legal action.
